I watched this movie with my 80 year old mother who LOVED it and is far less critical than I but I have ONE QUESTION as I write this.. Emily was at Reds FUNERAL.. Ali Hillis is good as Alexia, whom Jason meets quite accidentally in the park in Charlotte, NC, when her young daughter Emily (Abigail Breslin) approaches Jason. Emily a little girl with a rare form of cancer. It starts with the gift of work and ends with love. The acting in this film makes the storytelling believable. When Jason tells Emily that he needs a friend, she tells him to explain himself. But this is a movie site, not a political site so the bottom line is that this movie was BAD! In addition, then Mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina Pat McCrory has a cameo appearance as himself, while Jim Stovall, the author of the book the film is based on, has a cameo as the limo driver near the end of the film. It also tries to show us too many events the film focuses on Jason being kidnapped by a gang in the forest, trying to find the place where his father died, stalking his ex-girlfriend and such whereas it completely neglects character development.
